The Roots are one of those groups who have made their mark on hip hop and Black Thought to me is one of the most under-appreciated emcees of all time. When people talk about their Top 5 rappers dead or alive, he should always be in the discussion. The Roots new release, How I Got Over, should be coming out in June and I am excited to see what they bring to the table after Rising Down, which I loved, especially the title track featuring Mos Def and Styles P. Anyway, here is a genuine freestyle in which Black Thought absolutely destroys. Seriously, I haven't heard something like this in awhile, even Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest couldn't spit after Black Thought's performance. All freestyle rappers...take notes.
