Felt like posting this classic track from Nas, who in my opinion is the greatest rapper to ever touch a mic. No one was fucking with him back in the days when he was making tracks like this. Nowadays he's been busy dealing with his ex-wife Kelis, but that's a whole different story. Nevertheless, I'm still eagerly anticipating his project with Damien Marley. Anyway, "I Gave You Power" is a song from It Was Written in which Nas is talking from the perspective of a gun and he laces the track over the DJ Premier beat. It's always nice to go back and listen to Golden Era material, some Hip Hop artists seem to forget where the culture came from and these throwback joints are here to remind the readers. Peace.
